Watch: Browns WR Elijah Moore appears to convulse after suffering scary head injury vs. Jets in TNF
Scott Galvin-USA TODAY Sports

On Thursday, the Cleveland Browns, led by the veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, went against the New York Jets in their week 17 game. During the clash, the Browns wide receiver Elijah Moore suffered a scary head injury which resulted in him leaving the game early.

During the final minutes of the second quarter, the Browns were leading by 13 points and were trying to put more points on the board. The Browns quarterback Joe Flacco connected with his wide receiver Elijah Moore to move the sticks and then secure some more yards.

Moore was trying to gain more yards after completing the catch, but he was brought down by the Jets linebacker C. J. Mosley. As Mosley tacked Moore from behind, the Browns wideout slammed his hard on the turf of the Cleveland Browns stadium. Furthermore, after taking the hit, Moore immediately started to convulse. Check out the footage attached below.

Later, a medical professional on social media explained that Moore was having “involuntary movements from a Brain Injury.” Another doctor claimed that Moore might’ve suffered a seizure as a result of the head injury. However, there is no official news about Moore’s injury from the Browns yet.

He was taken out of the game and was evaluated for a concussion. Despite the initial scary sight. Moore walked to the sidelines on his own. Later, Moore headed into the locker before halftime and the Browns ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

Joe Flacco about Elijah Moore’s scary injury

The Cleveland Browns haven’t provided an official update on Elijah Moore’s scary head injury. But, their quarterback Joe Flacco talked about Moore’s nightmare day after the game.

It’s a shame that Elijah kind of got tackled on his head there, but I’m really happy for him the way he stepped up tonight and had a big game for us. Flacco said per the Akron Beacon Journal

Before suffering the head injury, Moore had caught 5 passes for 61 yards and a touchdown while averaging 12.2 yards per reception. He put those numbers in just one half and was on pace to have his best game of the season.

On the sporting side of things, the Browns ended up comfortably winning the game and improved to a solid 11-5 record. With that victory, the Browns have sealed a spot in the upcoming postseason despite having an injury-riddled roster.

Next, they are scheduled to take on their AFC North division rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals in their week 18 matchup. They would have a shot at securing the AFC’s No.1 seed if they managed to win their week 18 game.
