Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis is currently listed as questionable for Tuesday’s important showdown against the New Orleans Pelicans on the road. Davis hurt his back during the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ regular-season finale last Sunday against the Pels in the Big Easy. He was trying to get an offensive rebound when he got seemingly pushed from the back by former Lakers forward Larry Nance Jr. Shortly after that, Davis left the game grimacing in pain.
After the game, Davis opened up about Nance’s role in the play that left the Lakers star injured. The former Kentucky Wildcats star implied that Nance should have been more careful with his actions, especially during plays when the opposing player is in the air.

“I was in the air,” Davis told reporters after the Lakers’ 124-108 against his former team on Sunday, April 14. “So, obviously it’s a dangerous play. I know he’s not a dirty player. But I’m in the air and then get shoved in the back. Hyperextension. It just locks up.”

While Davis carries a questionable tag at the moment, Lakrers fans can count on him to play in the rematch versus the Pelicans. He said that the injury doesn’t really concern him, which must be music to the ears of Los Angeles supporters.
Davis is a big thorn in the side of the Pelicans. In the win over New Orleans during the weekend, Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while shooting 13/17 from the floor in just 33 minutes of action.
But even if the Lakers lose to the Pelicans, they would still have a chance to make the NBA Playoffs proper. If the Pelicans beat LA, the Lakers will face the winner of the other Play-in Tournament game between the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors.
