The Miami Hurricanes, like many other teams are preparing for the spring transfer portal. In the new college football landscape, player movement is at an all-time high. There were a record number of players who entering the transfer portal in the fall and we already are seeing many decide to enter in the spring. Hurricanes edge rusher Nyjalik Kelly announced he is entering the transfer portal.
BREAKING: Miami EDGE Nyjalik Kelly plans to enter the Transfer Portal, he tells @on3sports
The 6’6 260 EDGE totaled 19 Tackles, 4 Sacks, and 1 PD in his 2 years with the Hurricanes

Kelly was a top 100 recruit in the 2022 class. He was one of the top players the Hurricanes were able to get in that cycle. An unfortunate injury caused him to miss the entire 2023 season and he is now looking for a fresh start. In 2022 he had 11 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks. Kelly only appeared in four games in 2023 before his season ended.
The ACC runs through Florida State but outside of that team , there are plenty of opportunities for wins. Currently, the only other ranked team on the schedule in the Louisville Cardinals. With the expanded College Football Playoff, there are more opportunities for at-large bids. Even if the Miami Hurricanes are not able to beat the Seminoles, they still could sneak in as an at-large team. Once in the playoff, anything can happen.
Kelly should be able to help out another team in 2024. Every team can use another edge rusher and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
